32 players participated across 2 events last night with the return of the Draft to the MN Monthly. Cameo appearances by Gillian M, Jansen, Bruce VanB, pool sharks John S and Doug M, and Mo's entourage (his friend, Chris and wife, Nazli).
Thanks to all for coming, especially our many travelers from up north (Duluth/Twin Ports, Grand Forks and the Iron Range all represented including Trapper's first appearance at the Monthly).

Mostly restricting himself to Monthlies with a regular partnership with Wayne, Tony M made the most of his time on the table making it into the money and the loser bracket final. Potts and Stu became a dangerous last-minute addition to the bracket (as Potts finished his dishwasher install at home with just minutes to spare). However, even that high-power team couldn't keep Tristin and Chris from back-to-back wins with strong shooting and stellar defense. Congrats guys!

Nate O and Ben T were the top goalies selected with the 1st and 5th picks respectively, both paying off into the money (and facing off in a late night race-to-7 game for 3rd or better). After having to face off against him as a tough opponent in the bring, Mike R made a great 3rd overall pick with John W who helped him (through coaching and strong forward play) to a the King Seat.
Only a few players made the 'sentimental-yet-strategic' choice of drafting their bring partner (including Tony reuniting with his former common bring partner Chris M).

Rick and I came out swinging, winning the first set in 2 games. John and Mike immediately took back the moment by winning the first game of the second set. It had to come to this: a meat-nut 3rd game second set ball. Rick B had the crucial block and passed up to my 3. A walking rollover unintentionally cut-back for the win. Thanks to Rick for a having faith in my after a BYP slump, and great playing!
